6 Simple Ways to Relax & Regain Your Focus

Mental Focus and RefocusingSo over the last two weeks in particular I’ve spoke a lot about focus. Firstly in my blog last week I spoke about the key importance of focus during the upcoming exam season and its relevance to success in it, while in my Life & Lessons Post of Anthony Robbins, the world’s most successful peak-performance coach, I also talked extensively about his life lesson of focus and vision.

Tony Robbins has previously stated that, “One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus.” That’s what this post is about, because focus is in my opinion, ‘one of the most’ important factors in a person’s journey to success and yet it’s so easy to forget and lose.

In this post I’ll be sharing with you my top 6 ways to relax, de-stress and refocus back on what’s important to you. With focus, you’ve got to have a vision and that’s what I aim to help you recoup in this post.

“You’ve got to create a clear and compelling future,” says Tony Robbins, “a clear and compelling future that will pull you towards it so you’re not trying to push yourself.”

Below you can find my 6 ways to relax and regain your focus. Implement them in your life today, re-inspire yourself and regain that well needed focus to begin heading towards your future success again.

6 Simple Ways to Relax & Regain Your Focus

Go On Run

One of the first ways I like to relax and regain focus is to go on a run. It seems counter-intuitive, because how can an exhilarating, tiring and in some cases physically draining run help your in relaxing? Well, I guess through a little stress on the body, you work, relax and massage the mind as it temporarily focuses on something else but your work, relationship or whatever else it is that’s getting you down and blurring your focus instead.

You can read more about my reasons to run here, but if you want to regain focus, then from experience, this is a top way to do it that I personally recommend.

Watch an Inspirational Film

Focusing on your life, ways and activityI’ve always liked a good film, who doesn’t? Well there are a lot of inspirational films out there if you look and many of them I’ve watched. I post my inspirational movie suggestions here, but to yet have only shared a few.

If you’re feeling un-inspired and drained, then why not watch a moving and inspirational film to get you inspired, focused and roaring to go once more?

And don’t forget, if you’re reading this a few months down the road, you should check out my suggestions for a good one here to!

Meditate

Meditation’s a funny one really, it’s something you either get or you don’t. I’ve had a few attempts, but with no real luck and thus it’s not something I can talk about with experience. However, on the web everyday you see content about meditation, read stories of famous people like Steve Jobs who once meditated and see recommendations for how it may help.

If you’re interested in trying it to relieve your stress and re-focus on what’s important, then here’s a great post of tips I’ve found to get you started.

Listen to an Inspirational Playlist

Another one of my favourite ways to relax and refocus on what’s important to me is to listen to a playlist. Over the last 3 weeks I’ve published my current inspirational playlist online. Listening to inspirational, motivational and guiding music and speeches can have more impact on your mindset than you might think. If you’d like to try this out and I highly suggest you do, then you can check my first 3 sets of my inspirational playlist out, here, here and here.

Take A Walk or Ride Round the Park

Take A Walk Around the Park for Focus

A personal favourite of many, especially if you live in a city, is to take a walk or ride around the local park. You just get away from your work, family, friends and the hustle and bustle of your surroundings and take a trip to the park, to recoup you’re focus instead.

It’s a simple thing and unlike a run, something which won’t leave you in a sweaty pool once it’s complete. It can be done over lunch or on your morning walk to work, but either way it’s a great way to relax and regain your focus before the stress of life begins once again.
